The tracker card needs no app of its own. It signs in to the tracking network of the system you already carry on your phone: “Find My” on Apple, Google’s Find Hub on Android.
What happens when you pair it
During setup you choose which system the card should appear in. After that it shows up in the map app like a device of its own. No account with us is needed, and there is no subscription.
How the location comes about
The card sends a short radio signal. Any nearby device belonging to the same network passes the location on anonymously. That is why tracking works even when your own phone is far away — in a city usually to within a few metres, in the countryside less precisely, because fewer devices are in range.
The signal tone
When the wallet is in the same flat, the tone helps more than the map. You trigger it in the app and hear whether the wallet is under the newspaper or between the sofa cushions.
What the tracking cannot do
It does not show live where something is moving, and it is no replacement for theft protection. What it gives you is the last known location — and in the vast majority of cases that is exactly what you were looking for.
